FT. LAUDERDALE, FL . . . Butler International, Inc. (PK: BUTL) today announced AS9100 certification of its Quality Management System. The AS9100, a quality standard for the international aerospace industry based on ISO 9000, will allow Butler International to better document best business practices and satisfy quality and safety requirements of the international aerospace industry.
“AS9100 marks another important turning point in our company’s history and is the latest proof of our commitment to our worldwide aerospace clients,” said Ed Kopko, Chairman and CEO of Butler International. "As the first U.S. technical services firm to achieve ISO 9002 certification, we continue to be at the forefront of industry standards and procedures that produce quality and consistent performance, setting us apart from our competition.” Butler is the only company in the outsourcing industry that publicly releases quality metrics on an annual basis and is among the 20 percent to hold an ISO certification.
Initially released in October 1999 by the Society of Automotive Engineers, AS9100 was a cooperative effort of the International Aerospace Quality Group. It defines additional areas within an aerospace quality management system that must be addressed when implementing an ISO 9001:2000-based quality system.
